I had a goal this summer to hike to the "Y" with Miles and Evan. Really, I didn't think it would be too big of a deal - it's only a 2.4 mile hike, round trip. Evan didn't seem to thrilled about the idea though. He's been known to ask to be carried across the street, or to be pushed in his stroller on a walk around the block. But with just one week left until school starts, we made our way to the steep trail. And Evan walked every step of the trail that climbed 1,000 feet straight up the mountain all by himself, without any complaint. I think it's time to get rid of the stroller.
Great pictures Gretchen. This will be a memorable hike for the kids. Maybe you can make it a yearly tradition. It would be fun to see the boys grow each year in the pictures.
I am way impressed. We tried to hike a little when we were in UT and I had to hold Sage the entire time and Emery wanted to be held almost the entire time. Maybe next year we'll try the Y.
