If I were rich, I would love to take my kids around the world to see different places and cultures. Many times I have checked out prices of flights and hotels just to dream about the places I would go. In the meantime, I decided to take my kids on some at-home-vacations (aka the Education Staycation). This week we went to Iran. We learned about Islam, holidays, food, and we even learned a few Farsi words. We also made some Iranian paper cutouts, which, according to the book we read, are a popular hobby, and often used as home decorations. One of the cutouts was a butterfly, but Miles insists it's a spider. Next week I think we'll go to Japan...if it's available at the library.

I love it. If I wasn't so scatterbrained with E and everything I would do more of this. It is so good to get them interested now so it stays with them as they grow up. You're a great mom :)
what lucky boys! seriously, such a great idea. you go mom!
Cute! I'm totally going to do the Education Staycation when Liam's old enough to travel!
