What's in a name?

Evan calls this "mommy bird" and I am pondering what it is about this bird that makes her a mommy. She didn't come with any babies. Any ideas?

I know that I love the scripture versus that talk about Jesus gathering us like a chicken gathering her chicks under her wings. Maybe Evan sees the warm hug potential in the open wings. There is something about that bird that looks very cozy like a Mom.

Did I just write versus? Verses, verses. Yikes.

versus- ha ha!

I do like Jessica's hug idea. Before I read that I thought the hair do, the tilt of the head, and the puckering of the beak were all pretty feminine and we all know in a child's eyes all adult females are moms.

Ah, yes, both very good points. The bird clearly has some nurturing characteristics. I guess it's a good thing Evan thinks it's a mommy. :)

i was thinking it was because the bird resembles you.

oh my gosh, that made me laugh just from typing it. of course, the bird looks nothing like you.

Desi, I am happy I don't really look like a bird. :)
