The true meaning of Christmas

Anyone with kids knows that time spent in the car = supreme boredom for kids. The drive to guitar lessons takes thirty minutes each way. I take turns driving Miles and his friend Easton. To pass the time in the car, Miles and Easton have created "songs", more like chants, repeating over and over what they like that week. Such as:

WE LIKE WALL E!

WE LIKE ASIMO!

WE LIKE SUGAR!

WE LIKE RED!

WE LIKE SANTA!

WE LIKE REINDEER!

Then Easton stops suddenly and says, "I know the true meaning of Christmas."

Me (surprised):You do?

Easton: Yes, it's love.

Miles: No, it's about the Baby Jesus.

Me (trying to be diplomatic): Well it's about both because Jesus was born and He loves everyone and we love our families. And we show people that we love them at Christmas. So it's about both.

Miles: Okay, but the real answer is Jesus.

Your little Miles, so funny! I love the quotable quotes that come with mothering. It's better than when we were all roommates with the calendar :)
