When the whining or demanding are getting old, the funniness of kids makes it all OK. Here are a couple of examples:
There is a take-home reading program at Miles' school. His teacher has asked the parents to send a note to her when their child is ready to advance to the next level. I wrote a note to his teacher saying that Miles was ready for the next level. He took the note from me, and when I looked at it later it said on the bottom of the note, "the panguin book was to esy."
After running some errands we were driving through the Walmart parking lot and there was a man holding a sign that said he needed money for gas. Miles asked why he needed money and I said it was because he didn't have any. Miles thought about this for a minute and said, "He must work for the same broker as you."
I am thoroughly enjoying and sometimes laughing at Evan's vocabulary. Like the way he demands "cupcakes!" when he wants rice cakes. And the way he summarizes books: The Very Hungry Caterpillar is about, "He is a little guy. He's hungry." He will tell me this at least 25 times, and I'm saying "Yes, yes, he's a little guy, yes, little guy, yeah, he's a little guy. He's going to get a tummy ache. Yep, he is a little guy." And then there are the adult expressions that sound funny coming from a two-year-old like, "I can't believe it!" and "Oh my goodness" and "Holy crap!" I guess we have to watch what we say around him.
Funny stuff is a major thankful and sometimes when I laugh really hard I feel like I'm toning my abs and then I'm doubly thankful.

I'm thankful for your funny kids too! I have often wished I could turn a rice cake into a cupcake myself - you never know what the power of suggestion might do.
I'm thankful for funny sisters too.
