Mummy Dogs

Thanks to my friend's site, The Fun File, we made Mummy Dogs for dinner last night. These were a hit! It doesn't take much convicing to make my kids eat a hot dog (I use turkey franks, don't tell my kids...), but it's certainly more fun to eat a hot dog that is wrapped up like a mummy.

Pre-cooked mummies:

The recipe says to use mustard for the eyes and mouth, but my kids don't like mustard so we used chocolate sprinkles (Mark was kind of afraid of chocolate sprinkles in a hot dog):

After they were cooked, the mummies looked more like The Wise Men. You can see the way they're really supposed to look here. Maybe we can make these for Christmas too.

The dinner was so spooky, we had a ghost sighting shortly after:

I agree with Mark. There is just something wrong with combing hot dogs and chocolate sprinkles. They are cute though.

I like your Wise Dogs. Something about those hot dogs reminds me of vegetales. But then it would have to be called omnitales.

Mom, I'm glad you like reading my blog.
Kirstin, the chocolate sprinkles were kind of weird, but I willed myself to not taste them.
Jessica, I think Wise Dogs will suite them just right for Christmas.
Desi, I hope your kids like them too!
