My Favorite Present

My favorite Christmas present this year was a surprise from Mark. He found my old photo albums and scanned the pictures onto my computer. I had no idea he was working on this, and I don't know how long it took him or how I didn't find out about it. I *might* have cried when he showed me. (If you know me, you know that I did cry). Oh, the memories. I thought I'd share a couple with you.

This is when Mark and I were dating and I lived in a BYU cinder block palace. At the time I was working as a copy editor for The Daily Universe, which required me to proof the paper or layout the paper before it went to print. That meant I had to work late at night, but Mark and I always managed to hang out after.

A couple more pictures from when we were dating, including the time we dressed up as No Doubt's Gwen and Tony for Halloween. I wonder if we ever took our arms off each other when we were dating.

These are some pictures of my time in New York City when I was doing an internship for Lifestyle Ventures Magazines. Many of the pictures are with my cousin Melany, who was doing an internship there at the same time.

While we were in NYC we took a weekend trip to Boston. We went to see the band Mogwai perform, but thanks to our bus breaking down on the side of the road for a couple hours we missed the show. We did get to enjoy the sites of Boston, though.

The picture on the left was taken after we were on MTV's "TRL." That'll date me since that show was canceled years ago. The black and white picture is in front of the Manhattan church building, which is now also a temple.

This was a picture of a friend of mine at the Statue of Liberty with the twin towers in the background. It was 2001, just a few months before the attack on the World Trade Center.

Thanks to my wonderful husband for helping me protect my memories, and for being the source of my favorite ones. Wishing everyone a wonderful 2010 filled with great memories!

Cute pics!

That has to be the most awesome mullet I have ever seen in the last picture.

Thanks Ali!

Kirstin, the mullet was the real reason we were taking the picture. Love it! I call it the "Liberty Mullet."
