I like it!

9 things I like right now:

1. ancestry.com. You can put a name in a family tree and a little leaf may pop up next to the name with more info: maybe birth and death records, draft records, etc...It is exciting when a leaf pops up!

2. Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. This is the book I'm reading right now. I will probably write a review soon. If you are going to the library any time soon, pick this one up!

3. Run Fatboy Run is a comedy made in 2007 that Mark and I watched last week. Definitely it has some crass humor, but it also has some really funny parts and a cute father-son relationship. Also, everything seems funnier and smarter with an English accent.

4. Henry Toole is Here. We just rented this one from Redbox, and I'm not saying it's going to win any Academy Awards, but I thought it was different than the slew of action or romantic comedies out there. A lot of critics hated it for its religious themes. I think one critic even said something like, "This is not a movie. It's a sermon." However, critics never seem to think the violent, sexual, hedonistic messages endorsed by most Hollywood movies are sermons. Heaven forbid anyone talk about heaven, redemption, or faith. The movie, to me, was more about having hope than finding religion.

5. Blogs.

6. The Killers. I tend to listen to one band for weeks or months at a time. Mark thinks I am weird for doing this. He likes to listen to lots of different things at the same time and he doesn't want to "wear out" a song or artist by listening to it too much. But I just can't help myself. I love a quote frontman Brandon Flowers (raised, and reportedly still practicing LDS) told to some magazine that "Mormons can't be cool." Their music is so darn catchy and I know they are the big thing right now, but if you want an obscure band, ask Mark. That is his specialty.

7. This bookmark is cool!

The Etsy artist behind my Christmas present sent it to me with my print. It felt like a bonus gift! I usually use a scrap of paper for a bookmark, so this is pretty fancy.

8. Chicken Tortilla Soup at Cafe Rio. It's hard to wait in line for 30 minutes just for some soup, so I don't get it very often, but it is so good.

9. Power 90. These exercise DVDs are keeping me motivated. Six days a week I am either doing cardio, sculpt, or abs. We shall see what the results are in about 79 days.

Anyway, I don't know if any of that is interesting, but I like to hear what people like so I thought I'd share. What do you like these days?

I must say, I absolutely loved "Peace Like a River" I read it last year with book club. So good.

And Power 90 videos rock. I love Tony's cocky personality. We have p90x. It is a 12 week killer program. We finished 6 weeks, right before Christmas, and never started up again to finish off the last 6 :( However, we decided to start up again, on Monday....

I must be the last person to read Peace Like a River. :) Desi, you guys are tough to be doing the P90x. No x here and it's still plenty for me - I feel like it works too! Jessica, what is this winter you speak of with flip flops and t-shirts? I wish! Some Rocky Road ice cream sounds really good right now, and it really is so cute when your kids laugh together!
